Day 9

You know when you go outside and it’s cloudy but not rainy, cold but not snowy, and just all over gloomy. That was Day 9.

Some days, when I’m bored or need extra cash, I work for a moving company. I drive the moving trucks for them, and usually spend my time reading a book while the boys are packing the truck. A lot of my friends work there, and the manager is a musician who’s been on the scene for well over 40 years. Some people laugh or are surprised or generally very impressed when they see a little 5 foot 2 girl driving a huge 16 foot cube truck, but honestly it’s one of the easier jobs I’ve had.

While reading, you might slowly see that I am the Queen of “cushy jobs”. A cushy job is one where there is not much work to be done, or you work for a very relaxed boss, and mostly get paid to do very little while very well enjoying your job. I, being a creative, thrive in these jobs. I get to do the work, but also get to read, write, sit on my laptop and blog for all you wonderful readers, etc. Again, I am the Queen of cushy jobs, and I have a lot of them.

Processed with VSCO with a5 presetI finished around 4:00pm, so decided to spend one of my Christmas gift cards my amazing boyfriend got me. There’s a local record shop near my place with the largest and best selection, and I love perusing there once in a while. I finally went in and bought Castlemusic by Jennifer Castle (I highly recommend this album, on vinyl, with the speakers turned wayyyyyy up and the lights turned down low.) I came home to continue packing, which in reality was code for me listening to the album while playing games on my phone.

I brought the chicken noodle soup leftovers to our friend’s place down the street where we hung out and ate soup and played video games. It sounds strange but what else are you going to do on a Monday night with your friends? They have a huge kitchen, so once in a while I’ll go over and cook a huge meal for all my friends and the 7 of us will feast like we are having a big family dinner. I love it because I get guinea pigs when I try a new recipe, and they love it because they get a nice meal.

Not a very exciting day, but a good one nonetheless. The plastic cover from the record was the only piece of waste I made all day!

One plastic wrapping of a fantastic record.
