Day 16

Today was full on-sick as hell-day. I stayed in bed until 3PM, occasionally getting up for lemon ginger tea or cough drops. I slept surprisingly well after taking sips of benylin throughout the night and into the day. It was mostly a dry cough, so no need for any tissues to blow my nose. Just your average about-to-be-spring cold.

After finally getting out of bed, I made myself some leftover soup. I keep containers of chicken noodle in the freezer for emergencies and sick days. I took the longest, hottest, and steamiest shower known to man and instantly felt better. I mostly just wanted to get my voice back to normal since tomorrow I’m playing a show and recording a podcast.

After a commenter asked where I find a place in Toronto that uses reusable chopsticks, I was craving dim sum at my favourite place which also happens to be a block south of my house. I called out to the group chat, and instantly had four others on board.

I find dim sum is best enjoyed late at night, with good friends, and in groups of three or more. This way you can order a bunch of stuff, try everything, and when you split the bill it always ends up being less somehow. We also have this thing where the fortune cookies are surprisingly accurate based on our personal lives at that moment. I don’t know how, but it always seems to align with whatever stresses we’re having, or big changes we are about to experience. And of course, we always keep them until the fortunes come true. Mine said “You are active, full of ideas, and have a generous nature.” I have no freaking clue what that means, but I guess we’ll find out. Maybe I’ll finally join a gym or do a sport or walk up a flight of stairs without panting and needing a 5 minute time out? Possibly full of ideas for our new place *omg in less than 5 days eeeek!* or new ideas for this blog?

We shall see what awaits. As far as today goes, I managed to make absolutely zero waste again!!!!! Now 3 days in a row! 😀 This is getting easier than I imagined, especially with all my new knowledge of things I didn’t realize were compostable! For today’s image, here’s just a small portion of all the food we ate at Dim Sum. (For all you Torontonians, this is at Rol San on Spadina, my most favourite Dim Sum joint in town)
