Today was the first day of snow in a long time. I woke up and made my usual smoothie for breakfast, and got ready for the day. My new landlord called me out of the blue, and asked if I wanted to pick up our keys to the new place!!! I rushed over (obviously) to check out the now empty space and my mind started racing with ideas. I have tons of plans for it, including painting and some DIYs, so I’ll be posting all of that too on the blog.
I drove over to my friend Gina’s house, to record my episode of her new music-themed podcast. Driving in the snow, in downtown Toronto, is actual hell sometimes. The minute the weather changes, everyone forgets how to drive. I’ll admit my road rage is moderate, and I usually keep the honking to a minimum, but when it starts to snow or rain, I end up yelling foul curse words at strangers much more often than usual.
I finally got to Gina’s on the other end of the city, and we recorded possibly the most hilarious podcast/interview I’ve ever done in my life. I’ve been interviewed by tons of radio hosts, tv stations, etc. but no one is as good as Gina. Not only is her voice, and inflections so perfect, she also knows just when to cut away to a new topic and keep my answers short. I love to talk, so it takes real skill to hone that in and keep answers short. I’ll post the link here when it’s uploaded on Tuesday so you can listen if you want! I talk about the blog, bunz trading zone, my music, and I make a lot of dumb jokes.
After that, I went back home to eat some toast with butter (a pre-show tradition) and head out. I played at this really neat vegan punk venue that is pretty popular in the west end of Toronto. My friend had asked me to open for some touring bands, and I never say no to a good show! It was actually one of the funniest sets I’ve played in a long time. Opening for a bunch of pop-punk bands took me back to my high school years, when I had long red hair and wrote really sad songs. See embarrassing throwback photo here:

The place was packed. Tons of friends came out to hang and even Ryan’s mom drove an hour and a half just to see my set!!! SO SWEET ❤
After the show we went to my favourite diner in the city for some late night deep fried pickles. I go there so often, they already know to put the pickles in the deep fryer when I walk in. Yes, I’m one of THOSE people.
The day was actually super exciting, got the keys to my new apartment, did a sweet podcast with one of my good friends, and played a sick show with some awesome touring bands. And to top it all off, NO WASTE! What is this day 4?? To be honest, it’s hard for me to make waste when everything is packed up and I’m eating out for almost every meal… Nevertheless, I still consider it an accomplishment even though I’m probably spending way too much money eating out at the moment.
Until tomorrow ❤
