Day 1 of painting, and fixing up the new apartment. As I walk in to the empty space, I see all the little bits of my imagination running wild with ideas. This is definitely going to take more than just a coat of paint.
I persuaded my friend to come by and help me paint the bedroom for lunch. We got to work and only took about 2 and a half hours to paint the whole room with one coat of primer… This was going to take some time…
After the first coat down, we decided it was time for a reward and went out in search of food. We landed on this new pasta place down the street I’ve never tried, and has become now after only one meal another one of my favourite local spots.
After lunch, I went to my massage therapy appointment and my friend went home to chill out for a bit before regrouping. I went to my massage therapy appointment, which was possibly the best idea I had all week. I had been in so much back and leg pain for the last week and a half, so this was such a necessity.
I went back to the apartment to meet Ryan and our friend and continued painting the bedroom, this time with the three of us it only took two hours to do two coats of paint. Another reward was due for our hard work, so we all went to get nachos at a restaurant Toronto has unofficially named “the best nachos in the city”. We normally go there only because it’s close, and yeah the nachos are a mountain and a half and are recommended for parties of 3 or more.
As far as paint supplies that need to be thrown out, the only thing that may need to be thrown are the paint cans if they are all used up. I have paint brushes, rollers, can openers, putty and sanding blocks, so that creates no waste. I also have borrowed reusable canvas drop sheets and extension rods for the rollers. I have not used any tape or plastic, proving that you can even reno your house with very little waste!
No trash today, so here’s a photo of the nachos we ate. I didn’t grab my own photo since we ate it too quickly, but here’s one from the internet. See if you can name the popular Toronto spot!
